Lysa Gubbels. A really great friend who also happens to be one of our favourite photographers of all time. She can also save your ass if your insides are out with her paramedic skills. Lysa has been a friend of ours since High School 1999 and she's always been a great friend and always fully dedicated to what she does. We always look forward to photo shoots and hanging with Lys 'cause she's a great down to earth person that I'm blessed to know. If you ever need photos, you gotta work with Lysa and not only will you get great shots, but you'll meet a really cool new person. Check out her awesome work at www.lysa.ca. Shawn Tavenier. Shawn Tavenier was pretty much Peter Voith's first friend in High School. They met in 1992 and have been good friends ever since. Much of my performance experiences come from playing with Shawn in The Bourbon Brothers Band with whom Peter Voith, Jason Leen, and Shane McEwan of Jackson Miles have been playing in for the last 5 years. Shawn is a natural born talented performer that gets out of you exactly what you came to find the minute you walked into the bar. One thing's for sure, he'll rock the balls off any place with his band Silver Creek. Off stage, the expression "killing time" is non-applicable because it's always time well spent even if "killing time" is exacly what we're doing. Until the next rock show! Katia Rival. Plays Cello on "Long Goodbye" on Quarter Life's album "Hands On Today". Great musician and friend of that band. Anders Drerup. Lead guitarist and singer for Silver Creek, Anders is a great friend to most members of Jackson Miles. He has played music with us for a long time in The Bourbon Brothers and Quarter Life. He is also a very multi-talented man. Definitely check him out either acting on stage in a play or on stage at a rock show playing a variety of instruments. Very Cool indeed! Peter Gilroy, Peter Voith, and Frank Beecher. Peter and Frank are TOP NOTCH producers in Ottawa and great friends of ours. Do NOT hesitate to call them for any recording project. Peter Voith, Sarah Doolie, and Haley Price. Great friends and supporters of the band. Always brightens the night to see them around. James McLennan. A friend of Lysa Gubbels' who is also a great photographer and a great guy to work with. You can see his work at www.standardissue.ca. Larissa Shier and Peter Voith. What a smile and the voice of an angel. You've gotta see and hear her sing sometime. Dylan Shields at the 2009 Ottawa Bluesfest Big Screen. We met Dylan over 10 years ago when we were all just starting out playing music in Ottawa and we were always amazed at his "looping tricks". He's evolved since then and now has his own band called Tympanic. Mark Monahan. Executive Director of Bluesfest. Mark invited us to his back-yard for a BBQ one afternoon. We greatful to Mark because he cares about Ottawa musicians and tries hard to promote their music at the festival. For 5 years now, Mark has invited many of us back to the festival and we are thankful for that. He also runs a great program called Blues In Schools which we are proud to be part of. Blues in the Schools is an educational program that was created to promote, preserve, and perpetuate the art, culture, and heritage of blues music. Jamming with Tony D, Elmer Ferrer, and Juan Pablo Dominguez, and Peter Voith at the 2006 Ottawa Bluesfest "Elmer Ferrer" hour. www.elmerferrer.com/ "Elmer Ferrer Hour" with Halidan Cruz (congas) Anders Drerup, Elmer Ferrer, Peter Voith, Juan Pablo Dominguez, Tony D, Ahmed Mitchel (drums) and Alexis Bosch. Great times being on stage with these truly great musicians. Jake Von Wurden: A GREAT electric and upright Jazz basist. Jake also a great friend to us so we love to see that he's doing well and playing lots. We'd also love to jam with him again sometime soon. Peter Voith had the chance to record an EP entitled "All Of My Heart" on which Jake appears with Tyler Kealey, Ben Cooper, and Jeff Asselin. ©2008 JVL The new CEO of the Ottawa Senators Roy Mlakar. It was really nice to meet this CEO of the year, not to mention a great Ottawa Senator. It helps to hear the words of real successful people and how they see the world. Always a great oppportunity to learn something. Daniel Alfredsson and Peter Voith at a benefit for Mental health at Giovanni's restaurant on Bronson St. Thank you again Daniel for donating that awesome jersey for Wailing For Wheels. Daniel is a great supporter of local causes. ©2008 JVL Max Keeping and Peter Voith at the Answer To Cancer benefit. We got to hang out a bit more at The Dancing In The Streets event we performed at that Mr. Keeping puts on every year to raise money for cancer. Great speaker and a really personable good man. Puts a whole different positive spin whenever we see him on TV now. Never be too shy to approach him. The boys! Noel Marshall, Dino Valencia, Eric Haycock, and Scott Haycock. These are some of the great guys Peter Voith get to work with on a weekly basis. They're always up to fun things so hanging out with them is always cool. This pic was taken at one of the best parties I've ever been to in the Hayccok back-yard. Great food, music, and people. See you soon boys! A map of Carleton University. Some of us attended this school for 4-8 years!!(Extended program) Much of who we are today as musicians has come from this great place. Many great memories and lasting friendships made here. Patty Boland's! The Bourbon Brothers' favourite place to rock. The staff treats us so well and the place is always a party. That has much to do with the staff and the great ambiance. We're there every month. Come by for the good times! www.pattybolands.com/ Jeff Rogers of Silver Creek and The Cooper Brothers with Peter Voith. Jeff is a great keyboardist, singer, and songwriter. He performs often with Tyler Kealey and other members of Jackson Miles. Peter Voith and Jeff's birthdays are 1 day apart so they usually end up partying somewhere together. This shot was taken on Halloween night 2007. Shawn Tavenier and the man who makes it happen at Patty's, Liam Scobie. Liam is the man we deal with whenever we're there and always treats us like royalty. From day one, dealing with Liam has been a pleasure and has singlehandedly changed our minds about bar managers being hard to deal with. Right on Liam! Catch Liam at Beach Club in MTL when not working ;) www.pattybolands.com/ Barrymore's Music Hall. Great fenue that fits about 600 people but is now 400 capacity 'cause people just party too hard in what was originally an old theatre, and we're not talking about movies. John Mayer, George Thorogood, 54 40, Dave Matthews are just a few names that have rocked this stage in their earlier years. I'm hounoured to have rocked the same stage three times now. Probably the best live venue in town for original music. www.barrymores.on.ca From Danny, Matty, Skippy, and Pat, we've had awesome times thanks to these guys at the Ottawa Gracie's locations. These are two of the best bars in Ottawa to party in... hands down. Great sound and atmosphere, I always look forward to gigs at these places. Ben Cooper and I are at the West end every wednesday to it's a great home base and we're at the East end Gracie's for the 3rd year in a row for New Year's Eve. CAN'T WAIT!!! Ottawa party nightlife is alive and well as long as these bars are open. www.gracies.ca Zaphod Beeblebrox. One of our favourite place to play our own songs in Ottawa. I've made many great memories playing at this venue thanks to Eugene. Great sound and atmosphere. Hope to rock it again sometime soon. www.zaphodbeeblebrox.com BEST SOUP IN TOWN! Pho Thu Do or Pho BO GA Chinatown. If you like Pho, then you've been to this place because you know it's the bizbomb. We'll eat there once at least once a week after a show or for a band meeting. We'd be there more if I could. Sooo good, especially in winter and cold fall evenings. |
